You will need:
water (less than 1 cup)
1 Tablespoon yeast
1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add the yeast and sugar to a 1/2 cup of warm water (90 degrees) and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the frothy yeast mixture into it. Mix until it becomes a shaggy dough, adding water as you need it.
Turn the dough out onto a work surface and knead it until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Spray your mixing bowl with nonstick spray and place the dough in. Cover the bowl with oiled plastic wrap and a towel and set aside to rise until it has doubled.
Once the dough has doubled in size, turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface. Divide it into 8 equal parts by cutting it in half and then cutting each of those halves into 4 equal pieces.
Tuck the edges under and roll each over the work surface to make balls. Arrange the balls on a baking sheet and cover with an oiled piece of plastic wrap. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
Take a dough ball and press your thumb and index finger through the center to make the hole. Twirl the dough around your finger lightly, pulling to stretch the hole until it becomes about an inch in diameter.
Preheat the oven to 425. Then bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop the bagels in, one at a time in a single layer. Gently boil the bagels for 1 minutes per side. Drain bagels and place them on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Brush each bagel with egg wash and sprinkle on your toppings.
For Everything Flavored Seasoning you will need: onion flakes, garlic flakes, sesame seeds, poppy seeds and sea salt.
I could not find sesame seeds but Walmart did have a bottle of Einsten Brothers Everything Bagel seasoning mix.
Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
