bake your own pizza

The best pizzas begin with a yeast dough, good sauce, quality cheeses, and a hot oven.

3/4 cup warm water

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

1 Tablespoon sugar

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

Measure the warm water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and stir in the sugar. Set the mixture aside to proof, about 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl whisk the flour and salt together. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix to form a dough. Dump the dough on a work surface and knead until elastic. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with oiled plastic wrap and set aside to rise. You will want the dough to double in size.

When the dough has doubled, dump it onto a baking sheet and roll it out to make a thin crust. Top with your favorite sauce, mozzarella cheese, toppings of choice, and lastly shredded parmesan.

Heat oven to 500 degrees. When you are ready to bake. Turn the temperature down to 425 and bake for 15 minutes.
