Is the muck of life is weighing you down. Use the positive energy
of this month to set your life in order. Walk around your space
and look at your possessions. Look at all the things you have
never used. Do you really need all this junk? Space clearing is
the act of making a space more livable by working with the
energy within that space. The more space you make, the more
room for new energy to fill. This month is the perfect time to
throw out the clutter and clean. If the task seems daunting, use
the divide and conquer approach by choosing one room to focus
on and clear out the clutter. Make piles for trash, recycling and
the donation center and get rid of all the junk. Then clean. For
added energy, employ an herbal infusion to your wash water.
Just make a strong decoction of the herb of your choice by adding
1 to 2 teaspoons of herb per cup of cold water. Bring the mixture
gently to a boil. Cover, remove from heat and let steep for 10
minutes. Then add the decoction to your wash water and clean.

For centuries smudging, or the burning of aromatic herbs, has been a
common practice for purifying objects and locations. Smudging will
clear a room or area of any bad vibe or negativity. To smudge a room,
simply light a bundle of sage and walk around the room as you waft
the smoke into each corner.

Does your area feel stagnant? You may want to try smudging your
home or workspace with sage to clear out the old energy. Sage and
sweet grass are popular smudging herbs used for cleansing, balance
and purification. Smudging calls positive energy into a space while
removing negative energy. It is the spiritual equivalents to bathing.
This is a great way to clear depression, stress, or the stagnant energy
where an illness occurred. You can also use this method when moving
into a new home to clear the energy of a previous resident. If you've
had an especially bad day you can use sage to purify yourself. Light a
sage wand and smudge yourself by wafting smoke around and stepping
through it.

Welcome Spring!
This month we celebrate the dawning of Spring and the rebirth of nature as life returns. The daylight hours stretch, the air warms and
all of nature responds: bare branches bud, birds forage for nesting material, squirrels engage in mating races, bulbs wake from their
winter nap to push through the earth. Just as wild things in our yards wake, we too are stimulated by the cycle of light. The sun rises
earlier and earlier and we echo the seasonal rhythms. The doldrum of winter releases its hold and we shake off the fatigue, the
paralizing apathy, to face the world with a sense of wonder. Louis Armstrong sang, “What a wonderful world” and indeed it is. Take a
breath and pull your focus into the momemt. Open your eyes and your heart. Allow yourself to wake to the wonder and beauty all
around you. You may walk this path everyday on the way to your car but have you ever walked it mindfully? Have you ever listen to the
birds singing around you, paused to notice the array of colorful flowers blooming at your feet? Have you breathed deep the sweet scent
of the blossoms as they release their perfumes upon the air? When was the last time you paused to regard the hummingbird that
stopped in mid-flight hovering as he regards you? When did you last notice the gentle stirring of the breeze on your cheek, or lift your
face to the warmth of the sun? It only takes an instant to enjoy the moment. It is the awareness of these small things, the felt
connection to a world that is so much larger than us, that enriches our existence, and raises us from a drone, to shift us back into being
the main character of our life. It is in these small stolen moments we come to spirit. When we welcome the day, share a laugh,
appreciate our blessings, we find the divine. When we are thankful for what we have and all the potential we have to be, when we
celebrate our friends and loved ones, or take a conscious breath, we wake to the divine.

Spring has sprung and like the world outside, it is time to wake up! Open you eyes and acknowledge the wonder going on all around
you. Regard it with reverence and curiosity. When we face life with an open heart, the door of possibilities opens. All it takes is a shift
of perception. Sound too simple? Just try it. Step outside and look at your world. Consciously take a movement to marvel at the miracle
of life that is unfolding all around you on this awesome planet we call home and let your spirit soar. Utilizing the elements of the
natural world in a conscious way enables us to further our spiritual connections. It allows us to become one with the Divine. It allows us
to slip the doldrum that's paralyzed us all winter, to shift into an attitude of open wonder that ignites hope and happiness as
posibilities open brightening our reality. So drop those winter worries. Take a breath as you draw your awareness to the moment you
are in. Let your mind open to the beauty of the moment. Let your heart fill with bliss.
